Oh Canon Ring Mount A
My new metal friend
You are felt-lined--no lens scratches
You're rigid--you won't bend.

You adorn my f/4L
A great accessory.
Your solid feel and ease of use
Gives mount security

You have flexible fashion sense;
You come in whites and blacks.
You support my big white lens;
and prevent lens mount cracks.

By swiveling and locking tight
My skill you will help hone.
Supporting my favorite toy
on its Bogen throne.

I cannot seem to tout enough
Your useful steel embrace
If any of you doubt this stuff
See the smile on my face!

When speaking of this tripod ring
My joy I cannot hide.
It's just a tiny little thing
But I feel all warm inside.

Bah-hahahahaha:lol: . Let's all laugh at the engineer who tried his hand at verbal creativity! Seriously though...I just got this thing in the mail, and I know I am going to have a great time playing with it. I sometimes use my 70-200 for macro stuff using extension tubes, and it was really hard to position using the ball head I had, since there was so much torque from the lens on the extension tubes. I would have to lock the ball and let the camera sag down into the proper framing, which required a lot of trial-and-error. After I get my 1.4x t-con, it would have been even worse, but now I am confident that it will balance nicely! Wahoo!:lol:

Drool... How many people use those L brackets? Those look like a smart solution to the ball head flippy-blues.

Or Joyce Kilmer's immortal
"I think that I shall never see
A poem as lovely as 1D . . ."
(to be continued, maybe)
