View Full Version : Sort by Last Post Problem

Not sure if this is how it is supposed to work, but when I browse the Classifieds sections, both Buy and Sell, the posts are NOT sorted by most recent post. Each time i browse those two sections, I have to click the "Last Post" header to sort by most recent post. Even if I return to those sections during my same session, I will have to click the "Last Post" header to sort it again.
As far as I can tell, this only occurs in those two sections... All the other subforums auto sort by last post.
Any help or explanations?

Basically, this is an anti-bumping setting.
The threads in those sections are sorted by thread start date.
This gives everyone a level playing field when they sell their gear (regardless of whether they bump their items or not). If you need to see what changes have happened most recently to ads, then yes, you need to click on the "last post" button to re-sort.
I hope that explains things.

I hated this when it was first implemented, but I love it now. I can hardly stand going over to FM's buy/sell now. The overpriced stuff stays at the top because the seller keeps bumping it up, or someone else keeps doing the "free bump for a great guy" thing.
Thanks POTN!!!

Thanks for the kudos Derek.
Not only does our software reduce the effectiveness of those types of posts, they are also deleted on sight. No bumps or off topic chit chat is allowed in the For Sale forum. If one has an off topic question it should be addressed by PM.
