Hey guys,

Second time shooting a official shoot like this, and first time shooting against black... i do believe my subjects where a tad too close but i think it turned out well.

They wanted a more family setting for the shots not really dedicated on her maternity alone as she has had them done before.

here are a couple of examples from last night.

Michael- nice series. I've got a shoot like this one later this month- mom, dad and 2 other kids. Would like my session to get results like this.

Michael, I agree with Hawk, great series! Only CC is that you have some serious shadows from your subjects on the background, I would move them out a few more feet to eliminate shadows.

Yea i seen the shadowing issues :( I am hoping i can clone them out for when they order there prints.

First time shooting on black and usually shoot high key and light up the background.. did not do that here and maybe should have.

These are great shots, but i think you might want to tone down the skin smoothing a bit.

Always either move the couple or move your strobe so when one person's face is in front, it doesn't put shadows on the other like you see in the last photo. Use more than one/two lights, and use less flat lighting patterns and angles. It's flat, low contrast. Use background lights, hair lights, etc, to separate subject from background. Keep subjects at least 6-8 feet away from backgrounds at all times.

I think they will be pleased with these... Thanks for sharing
