580 EXII ~ broken shoe/mount/thingy

You know that little plastic thing that comes with your flash, the bit that you need to attach your flash t a light-stand? What's it called because I've broken one!

Anyone know of a place to buy a few spares?

The flash went belly-up in the wind the other day, luckily the only broken bit was the shoe thingy-ma-gum.

It's hard to search for something you don't know the name of!

Canon sells spares - give their spare parts department a call. Replacing the shoe adapter/lower assembly on the 580EX I isn't hard, don't know about the II.

I think he means the fork-type shoe mount adapter that comes with the flash.
(the flash is 580 mark 2 and the shoe is metal, while he mentions plastic)

Maybe you could take a photo of the exact part that is broken - so we can see which bit is the "thingy-ma-gum"? (Could just be the Hot Shoe Mount)
