View Full Version : Trip to LA Zoo with Canon 100-400 IS !!!

Finally my pics from today's trip to Los Angeles Zoo.

Rented on Monday the Canon 100-400 IS lens. Was supposed to go on monday, but was not able to. The lens was due back to the store at noon today, so I had to hurry.
So I was there at 10 am and was out of there by noon, 'cause I knew the store would forgive me 30-45 min lateness on the lens return.
Took 2 Gigs of photographs. The lens is amazing, so easy to use, and IS (image stabilization) really helps, I did everything handheld and it did really well. A lot of the pics were taken at full 400mm and they were still sharp as a tack.

Sweet shots. Everytime I've been to the zoo it seems like the wolves are hidding out being lame.

Woah, those rock! That really is a sweet lens. I'm thinking about getting one myself. People seem to always get great shots with that lens. Plus, it's one of the less expensive L glasses. :-)

Great pictures! I love my 100-400. I just got it and only tested it at the zoo. But, from what I've seen, it's been worth every penny.

First let me say that those are some wonderful shots, I love the color and sharpnes of each one. But Second let me say that "I Hate You" I have been wanting that lens for a long time, and have been saving for it for a while as well, just seems as if things keep comming up that dips into it, and seeing those shots makes me want it NOW!!!!

Love the wolf and seal shots! Great composition on both.
