The video format for the sx10 is mov (h.264 with linear PCM audio). I have Pinnacle 12.1 video editing software. Will this software accept the mov format, and, if not, what converter will make this format usable in this application.

Looking at Pinnacle's website (http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us/Products/Consumer+Products/Home+Video/Studio+Family/Studio+Plus+12+Ultimate+Support/Download+Area/Drivers+-+Updates/Studio12_1_3.htm?mode=documents&Display=1), for version 12.1, it accepts the .mov format.

From their website:
Enhancements and Improvements are included as listed below:
* Support for movies recorded on Digital Still Cameras or Digital Camcorders in QuickTime .mov formats.

Thanks for that response. My research indicates that "mov" is a wrapper for a number of codex types. The sx 10 has a video h.264 and a linear PMC audio as its mov codex types. Pinnacle says it has tested h.264 video and MP4A (Aiptek) audio and a MJPG video and PCM audio within the mov and they work, but that one cannot assume a "mix and Match" between the video and audio codex types. My question is whether anyone has experience with the h.264 and linear PCM match provided with the sx 10 in the Pinnacle 12.1 program.

I have used ANY VIDEO CONVERTER which is a free down load.
I convert my MOV files to PAL with AVC Then transfer them to my video file then I can use them in my files . I also have pinacle studio and POWER SHOW GOLD which I can transfer them from my video file without any complications.Hope this helps ,
