First one, digital. This is the type of photo I like to take; snap of life. Minimal processing; the WB was within 100 of as shot, and I sharpened it.
Second one, film. That's my dad and my dog; both are old rangers. Dagnab it, I don't know the settings, I have to remember to take a notebook with me. It's an EOS 1N, 28-135 lens at about 100, maybe f/6.3 and 250ish. Fuji Superia Reala 100.
I know, time of day; but the photos were secondary to the real object of getting dad and dog out of the house for a while.

Wow really good for a film shot. Number 2 is definately my favorite out of the set.

There you go then.
Otherwise, the second one captures real character and is nicely composed (esp. the complementary downward and upward head angles, and the unusual framing so tight in) with the orange working really well, while the first is a bit lacking in compositional and human interest factors. Took a while before I noticed the fishing rod. Sure none of that's news to you.
Cheers, Tony

Thanks, I ALWAYS take something I can use from what you offer; your comments are very helpful. Often I know something's not right, but I don't know what.
