Hi Allen - just discovered these by good fortune.

That character sure has character in #1 and you timed it just right :D. I like the way the dark negative space sets off the chef (?) in the second. As for the kid on the trike, did you intentionally time it for "youthful playfullness" to be cruising by "the promise of renewal?;)" I see well composed words matched with good composition. - Stu

Well I was hoping he would keep pedaling and his parents wouldn't walk into the image Thanks for the compliments Stu...

Hi Allen, Yeah, Nice set. I especially like the first one. Nice framing with the old Hippie's peace sign becoming an integral part of the main subject. Worked well in this instance. ;)

I agree with Stu on this one. Was that your intention? I suspect it was.

Thanks so much guys.

I meant to say WOULDN'T walk into the image. He was getting close to the corner and the words seemed PERFEC ; dad ran up a fraction of a sec after I pushed the shutter. Would have ruined the shot had he entered it.

Bruce Yeah I waited for the kid to get by the sign and hoped and prayed mom or dad wouldn't catch him before he got to the right spot.

Allen do you have special areas of Chicago you like to "haunt?" I tend to gravitate to Cleveland's Flats and river area and thought you may have a certain affinitiy to parts of your home town.

These were in Oak Park (suburb) but there are nieghborhoods in the Chicago that are more colorful and I tend to go to. I try and get out at least once a week and shoot for no one else but ME...

I know that feeling.

There is just something I find to be immensley calming, relaxing... very settling... to be out walking, looking, thinking, observing - mentally composing, letting that inner eye wander alongside the physical body as you move about the neighborhoods.

After a week of regular working aggravation, this is a nice balm to the soul ;).
