Hello,

I have a few questions to ask regarding someone wanting to use one of my photos for a logo, a poster and a few ads in the local newspaper. At first this person was wanting it for free. I was kind of hesitant at first. After a few email exchanges, they are willing to agree to pay 50-100 euros for the use of the image. To me I find that to be a reasonable cost for the photo.

Since this is my first time in a situation such as this, I could take this opportunity to gain experience from how the business side of things work (i never would have thought someone wanted to use my photos).

In order for this to work, how should the paperwork be stored out? Is there a copy of a statement I can use?

The photo in question is here http://www.flickr.com/photos/s_chang/2619780210/in/set-72157605606573043/

How much do you think i should charge?

Thanks

Stephen

[edit] They also claim to have small budget. Also they want to use this photo 'forever' since it will be in a logo.

If they want it forever, the budget better get bigger....... I'm sure they are not going to be on a budget forever........

I'd license them for a year at most....... Thats it.....

There are other images available of grass, I think the offer is reasonable if you can live with it. If you are doing regular stock photos, stick with your stock pricing, but it doesn't sound like it.

You could hold out for more, and get nothing instead.

I'm surprised they offered you as much as they did for a picture that could probably be had from microstock for a few dollars. I would take what they offer. It's grass. There's plenty of it all over the world.

Well, why not! To me, they are actually offering too much...
As long as you are not giving them all the rights, you can keep reselling that photo over and over

I think it is a fair price they are offering for the photo as long as they don't have exclusive rights to the image.

Very nice image by the way. Simple, clean and I feel it conveys a very calm mood.
