I have an old sd600 and was thinking about getting a waterproof case for it. I don't want to drop ~$200 for the nice canon underwater case. Has anyone used one of these?

The reviews on amazon are mixed but I was wondering if anyone here has a thought?

How deep are you going to go? If you're going to get as deep as 25 ft, I'd go the Canon route - you'll find it easier to work the camera and less vulnerable to leakage. If you just want it to use in wet environments on the surface, it'll suffice.

I bought the Canon case for the SD870 (and sold it because I just didn't get to use it enough) and it was worth every penny.
I actually played with vacuum sealing my camera and, while it worked perfectly, the water pressure would end up pressing every button at once after a certain level LOL

I have the canon enclosure for my SD700 IS and love it so much, that after we dropped the 700IS and the autofocus quit, I bought a used SD700 simply for use with the water proof case. Only used it twice in 3 years, but I think it is well worth the investment. It allows you to use each button exactly has it was intended and you don't have to worry about the camera slipping around in the enclosure. My two cents.

Thanks guys. I think I might go for it. I won't be any deeper then 10 ft or so as I am only going to be snorkeling. I will report back with the results if I get it.

BTW I love the idea of vacum sealing the camera.
