So I was attempting to make my own Presets in LR2, in doing so I ended up getting what I thought to be a neat look on one of my 5 year old sons photos in his jammies & pulled it into CS2 to play with it even more.
In the end, I really like what I ended up with...
my husband just thinks its creepy
ahh well. :p
So I wanted to share my efforts. ;)

I don't really care for the results. He looks really scary and for kids i think it doesn't look to good.

I see what you are saying.
for a horror film lovin mommy & a kid that was born on halloween ;) its fitting. my son 'in the photo' thought it was cool.
Clearly its not something I'd do to anyone elses childs photo. ;)
I will certainly be revisiting the effect however with an older subject, it was simply a photo where I ended up 'creating something' & liked what I came up with in the end.

I think it works because of his Hulk (?) shirt and it gives it a kind of comic book look overall! :-P Being born on halloween, you have to have a picture like this! ;-)

If you was out to create a scary kid, you succeeded, but i wouldn't want my kid portraying that kind of image.

I'm 100% with you on this. Some people only want their kids to look their best....but that's what you can do with a P&S! I say GO FOR IT! Get creative. Go wild with all sorts of lighting and PP effects.
BUT
[You knew there'd be a "but" didn't you!]
Bare in mind that children are HIGHLY influenced in their cognitive and self-perceptual development by their environment....so please reinforce that these images are "just for fun, but you're not actually a scary horror creature from a Stephen King movie".
Great-looking son btw!

I appreciate your but ;) I appreciate your insight on this topic. My kids have a healthy self esteem and excellent confidence & open mindedness. Fantastic traits that I hope they continue to carry with them.
& thank you, he's a character.

You're welcome Lore....it's just my background in Child Psychology talking, so, no worries! Always happy to encourage healthy "anything" in kids as clearly wonderful as your son!

Actually, I like it.
I hope this doesn't offend you but the pic after pp'ing reminds me of that ventriloquist doll Chucky. :) Made me go "Oh WOW!!!"

Lore-- I think you did a good job. I have a few kids and try to get creative by doing non traditional kid shots also. Good work.
