It's an awesome lens, I love mine. Much more than I thought I would. Hasn't left my camera since I got it.

I borrowed this lens from a friend for the weekend and was very impressed with it. I shot mostly at the Botanical Gardens and I could just about see my toes. I can't wait to try it with Architectural subjects......but am a little afraid of the distortion. I want to try a tilt-shift lens too as I know this considerably helps the bending with subjects like buildings.
Have a great time with the new toy......played last weekend with my new 100mm macro and was absolutely stunned with the results.

Hey Dante. You're one of the few around here that has a couple of Tamron lenses. How do they compare to the others? (Our only local camera store sells Tamron, and I'm a little leery.)
Have fun with your new lens!!! (The both of you. ;) )

Dont be! I picked the tamrons to fill the spots on my lens list as they are terrific values- 6 year warranty, come with hoods, pinch caps that allow you to take off the cap with hood on and all came with a nice lens pouch. As well, the reviews I read regarding them, stacked up pretty nice agains the canons. My 28-300 is incredibly light. Less than my 85mm 1.8, it is truely unreal that way. Its not a pro lens, but its not priced to be and is nice when I am feeling lazy and want to travel light. LOVE my tamron sp90 macro. What a bute! Look at an example:

All in all Tamron serves a purpose for me in price and quality. Over all been very pleased.

Exactly spot on. While I went for the 50mm 1.8, that allowed for even more in the bank...err camera shop till.

It's O.K.for you guys in the U.S.A, but here in rip-off U.K. there is only 12 months warranty on Tamron, however took the chance & bought the 28-75. Love it on my 20D !

Agreed. I have a Tamron 180 Macro, and it keeps me more than happy. As you mentioned we get a nice zippered pouch with a shoulder strap. 6 year warranty.. + very good optics... really can't complain at all..
by the way Congrats on the 10-22..
I want one, but don't want to part with the money.

Here is my contribution to the request for samples using the 10-22
#1 - 22mm ISO 1600 at about 6" from the subject
#2 - 10mm ISO 100 Standing right next to the subject......What great DOF!!

I noticed some REALLY strange focusing problems... subjects on the same focal plane would vary in focus and out of focus. the rep at samys had me take some test shots and thought the elements were probably out of alignment. They would have swapped it out right the and there, but I didn't have the box and waranty card.

I made the mistake of getting the 10-22 about a week ago.....after a few days, I realized that I needed another body cause I can't seem to take the lens off....soooo, I got another 20d on the way as I write this......actually, I was looking for an excuse to do it anyway...but the lens will never come off that other body......I told my wife that changing lenses gets dust on the sensor..but she ain't buying that.....but she did buy the new body....later....don
