Dove ID Help

Saw a dove today that is not in my books ... and only for a moment. He was brownish with a white horz. band running the length of the bottom part of both wings when folded. Wasn't able to get a shot .... to fast for me to swing the camera.

Any Idea what this one is?

Jim.....it sounds like it might be a white winged dove. They have the white band on the edge of their wings.

yep ... think you are right ... my books didn't show the band very well.

Does sound like White Winged. They are larger than mourning doves, a bit more upright in posture too.
