i took these today, but I need help naming them.. I am not that sharp on my birds, I am learning.

Btw: These were 100% crops, because only 200mm is waayyyyyyyyyyy to short...

ok posting images b4 i fall asleep at pc.

I had to stalk this bird.. he kept pacing me, and keeping our distance.

Nice shots!

The second two images are a "great Egret"

The first two are of a "Snowy Egret"

Thank you Cyber...

I tell ya, I really understand why you said you need a 400+ to get close to these birds...

Apparently not. Check out LazyPhotographer's post about the Egret, Up Close And Personal: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=67684

All you need is a picnic table....

yeah I read the post, but this egret was not trying to even see me getting to close. When I got within a good range for a 200mm in focus shot, she got up, and flew to the other side of the plain, then when I walked to the other side, she kept her eye on me closesly, and when I steped on a branch she got up, and went back over to the other side of the pond. I sware I must have lost 10 lbs yesterday. From one side to the other side is about 50 feet or so.

Lazy definetly got some nice shots though... I need to get a longer lens sooner, or later when I have the money to spare.

The way to remember it is this:
Snowy=Black bill, yellow feet
Great=Yellow bill, black feet

Plus, the Snowy is smaller by a third.
