Been waiting for ages to catch an F15E nice and low through Cad West, quite pleased with the pass and even got Shiney Two (Tornado GR4) through later in the day.

I love the vapor coming off of these jets.
Can't wait for the next air show near me to try again! Wish I had a nice spot like this to wait for them. Really nice job on them. First one is my favorite, more vapor. :D

Was using 1dMK2n with canon 300 F4, at this location you can get away with 70-200 as well.

Is there a story behind "Shiny Two"? Where it got it's name and what significance the plane might have? Tornados have always been my favourites, they're a stunning looking bird.

Me too. I love those wings - so slim and yet packing such a punch! I remember having an "Airfix" model of one around 1982 and dreaming of seeing one fly overhead.....then in '84 my Dad joined the RAF and later, I sat in one!
What great memories....

Sorry...
The city sanitation department called and said they'd rather all that glass go in the recycling bin instead so I had to go retrieve it all.

For those who may wonder, I know the pilot of the F-15E LN 0318 (the one with the green speedbrake on it). He saw the pic and said he thought it was pretty darn good.

Cheers everyone....!!
The Tornado in the 90th anniversary markings is called Shiny Two being the flagship jet of the II(AC) Squadron OC....
2 SQN are the oldest flying Squadron in the world having been formed in 1912....The Squadron have long been known as Shiny Two hence why the GR4 is nicknamed as such!!!
P51...your friend flying 0318 must have quite a collection of nicce shots now from his exploits down in the weeds of Wales....He certainly can FLY his Strike Eagle....I have witnessed a number of passes by him and will never forget them.
He knows we love to see the crews from Lakenheath as much as the guys like to receive the shots we send to them.....!!!
Please thank him again when you next speak to him.....!!
Regards,
Neil.
Andy's shot is superb...I agree....:D;)

Man, I just love all the shots you guys get over there in the UK. These are some of the best air shots I have ever seen, just a wonderful perspective that you don't get anywhere else. I have to get over there some day and try my hand at it. Great job.
