Wondering what some of you think about this....working with limited equipment and space.
1st is the edited , then the original straight out of camera.

I'd say yes, it works.

i would say that it doesn't work solely due to the fact that it's been done to death. all triteness aside though, it was fairly well executed.

....yah but maybe not everyone has seen it.

Like me.. I've never seen it... an I love it.. I wish I came up with that idea. Well executed.

it works for 2 reasons:
1) you did it right
2) even if every wedding album has a shot like this, it doesnt change the fact that all the new brides ALSO want one from their own wedding - so it works

Best edit on this shot I've seen in awhile. I like the rays of light that are bouncing around!

Thanks so much for the comments on this...I was impressed with the way this turned out, being that the set up was truly unique in my opinion...it was taken in the back of my 18 wheeler in the sleeper, with a flashlight, and a canon sx110 is, handheld( one hand holding the light and the other holding the camera) minor edits done in photoscape...again thanks for the comments.

The shot itself is pretty well executed, it may be a well-used formula but that doesn't make it any less impressive - although it looks like you have a WB issue.
Its also worth selecting the "pages" you use carefully, so that the text is readable - I found it a little difficult making out the printed page - maybe the shadow could leave a little more of the page visible? ;-)

I really like this shot on the bible! Especially how the shadow creates a heart. Ya know, the bible says that God is love and that His light directs our path. Very cool!

Just did a simular shot for a couple getting married this summer. If it's important to the B&G then it's important to me.

For pic #2, I would rather see a bit more detail towards the outer part of the photo. The black void around the ring doesn't do it for me.

For some reason, these ring shots get "poo pooed" on more than any other types of ring shots. I wonder why.

I think this shot is very nice! Can you tell me how you lit it?

Hand held small flash light behind it at angel to create heart on page, camera with the other hand.

Thanks again for all the comments

What happened to the OP's response to this that I had email notifiation of?

To the OP: I think what Phil meant was NOT that you had "stole" someone else's photo - more that the "idea" is a fairly standard (stock) one that many wedding photo mags use.

I know it's been done before, but I think it works very well. Great job on the lighting.

Very nicely done! It's the first time I'm seeing this shot, I like it. But then again, I don't really read wedding photo mags lol

Precisely, like me, I've not seen it yet. I think that shot is really nice. It only symbolizes the true meaning of a ring(whether it is a wedding or engagement ring). I like it. A wonderful capture indeed!

Well done. I think it's interesting that to some it's old hat but to others like myself it's new and cool and I've seen alot of wedding photos. But then again I've been accused of not being from this planet. ;)

Well... I'm very new to this board. I've been pregnant or had a baby attached to me for the last four years (no time to scan the internet for photos). Married five years ago and my photographer didn't do it so... I never saw it. ;)
