Nice website, simple and not cluttered. Ok if you don't mind me asking what type of code does it require to get the thumbnails to show up larger by just moving the mouse. I only took basic HTML in school so I'm not up on all the JAVA's and a like but its a neat feature would like to know what it is called.

TSEE what editor are you using, like Dreamweaver or FrontPage? Some of them has macros that will almost do it for you.

Two things I noticed right off. The grayscale bar on your page is an excellent idea! What about a color gradation bar to go with it?
Second, when I roll over the thumbnails to see the pictures the text to the left (instructions on seeing the pictures oddly enough) shows through and on top of the picture being displayed.
I am funning Firefox for a browser so I am unsure what it looks like in IE or Netscape.

I didn't see any endorsements/reviews/awards/chest thumping/flag waving or much marketing bs at all.
About me page question symbols: quote -- Ive grouped the photos on my site into four galleries. A different theme for eacheach discussed below. But I found it hard to place many of the photos in only one gallery. The themes are interrelated and dont have the boundaries required by web sites. But in reviewing my own work, I found my photos fell roughly into the following:
People
I am amazed at everyday life. The six-plus billion people on earth have their own everyday livesjust like we do. Our lives intersect with some but not most other people. We all experience ups and downs, although not necessarily in the same proportion. I like capturing people doing everyday thingsthings we can all relate to. I guess Im fascinated by the thread of humanity that ties us all together.
Places
I like to travel and see new thingswhether cities or wonders of nature. I try to capture the spirit of place contained in each. Thinking of the human history that has occurred in an old citylike Romeenchants my mind.
I am awestruck by what the simple and steady forces of nature have created over a time scale that is hard to grasp at times.
Shapes
Shapes are pleasing. Shapes can convey meaning. The camera plays with shapesforcing them into two dimensions. I like playing with shapes!
Emotions
Everything is emotions. Im not always in touch with mine. But sometimes the photos I find on my camera at the end of the day have more to do with the emotions of the moment than the subject of the photo itself.
the sample photos are smallish and the thumbnails are too small.
*usual IMHO high speed assessment disclaimer  and I am FireFox driver too ( "Is good.")

Thanks, everyone, for your comments!

I'm not sure about the code itself. It's java script, but I copied it (legally) from a site. If you "show source," you will see where I got it from as I kept their required code with their name on it.
I've always thought that art sites should be simple--the design elements on the sight should be the ART, not the web site itself. Anyway, that's my philosophy...
I have no idea why the site doesn't work in firefox. I think that's why some of the symbols don't work and why the text shows through the photo. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated!! I was thinking of removing the instructions to help with that--then, in firefox, the larger image just wouldn't be centered... Do you think people will know enough to mouse-over the thumbnails?
