Two shots I took yesterday of bubbles from my little girl's bubble machine blowing across a field. Both not edited, as shot. Comments/criticism welcome!
No flash, sun just behind trees to the right.

With flash, towards trees with sun setting behind them.

The photos certainly are ... bubbly. You'd pretty much have to manual focus, wouldn't you? Would AF work with bubbles? I do like how you were able to capture the colors, especially the first shot. The second photo has a better sense of depth -- and focus seems better -- but maybe troublesome into the light.

I like the first one better. I think that the colors add to the shot because the overall tone of the image is monotone (all green.) The lighting is definately better in the first one also.

Yet another benefit of the first one is that it's at 49mm focal length, rather than 21mm, and the individual bubbles are larger, showing more detail and interest.
My nieces got such a machine at Christmas, and I got some pictures I really like of them trying to "pop" the bubbles with some electronic "wand" with two contacts... it would reward them with a beep if both sides touched the bubble before it burst. The looks of concentration, determination and excitement were just hilarious.... So, if I were you, I'd put your girl back in the frame.
Cheers, Tony
