Neil is getting a bit long in the tooth (as are so many of the performers I shoot) and tends to keep the spotlight just on himself (at least during the first three songs.)

#1 Obligatory Collage

#2 And his outfit was a nightmare:

#7 This is what the lighting was like most of the first three songs:

hello mr. Dwight :) I agree that his outfit is awful. Keep looking on his red suit and you will get a headache :) Other from that, you have some nice images like #2 and #6 (have to agree with roman_t).

Nice series. Agree that the suit is "a bit" overwhelming in #2
I'd try to desaturate the reds, or pull down Vibrance a bit.

Skintone looks a bit too far off from the rest in #6.

Thank you, D.A. I think he wanted to call attention to himself! :-)

These were converted in LR with just a bit of exposure/fill, some clarity and portrait sharpening and cropping. No color adjustments. That's pretty much what he looked like. If you look at the full stage shot, you'll see that he had red & blue lights plus the spots. Much of the extra redness was added because of the red lights ... plus reflection from the outfit, of course.

The conditions were good. We just had a bit of redness with everything else dark.

Having slept on it I do agree that I could have diddled the saturation/vibrance to take the "sting" out of it but I think my eyes were still bleeding from the show when I post processed. :-)

Well now, that certainly is Neil Sedaka, all right... Looks the same, the smiles and mannerisms are just as usual, and I know he still sounds great... (as he always does)...

Though the red shirt and jacket are a bit loud, that's show business for ya.

This is a well rounded set... It's not easy to make a one man show look hugely great... You did real well with this one Dwight... Congrats.

Thanks, John. Yes, he is a one man show! :-)
