Hello all, Just an initial review of the Promaster SystemPro Superlite Ball Head 3. Picked this up for my Manfrotto 679 Monopod a little while ago. The build quality appeared as good as anything else in the store (Manfrotto's, Velbon and a couple others). The panning is smooth, friction adjustment smooth and consistent, locks without sagging. Appears to be all aluminum, the quick release plate engages easily, has a safety and is very solid. Have been doing some nature walks (not heavy hiking) with the camera attached with no problems so far. Specs say it can hold 6 kilos plus. This is fine for me since I use a 40D, my biggest lense will be a 70-300 IS USM with a TC (next week!!!) but right now I usually have my 100 macro on it. I know, not the heaviest but I like my small bit of kit to be secure. My wife is gettig me a Uni-Loc tripod for our anniversary (in a few months) and this is the head I will be putting on that also. So for carrying my admittedly lightweight set up it is solid, smooth, easy to adjust, very reasonably priced at my local shop. As a side note the Manfrotto is a nice stick, easy to use, well built and solid. That's it for now. :D
