This is more of an observation than anything . Got my 1.4 con today
took 4 shots same subject same light etc with my 300D and 70-200f4 , first two with con got 1/100 and F5.6 iso200 at 280mm eval meter on first partial on second , partial meter shot was more under exposed , i expected this but without con on third shot got 1/160 and F.4 and fourth got 1/125 and F4 again 3rd shot eval metering and 4th partial but this time 4th shot was more over exposed , ? Shouldn,t exposures gone the same way on both my limited experience partial metering underexposes slightly which i prefer ?

The converter shall not affect the metering as 300D adopts TTL metering.

For metering I think the result shall be the same when your metering spot is placed on the same subject. But if you still achieve underexposed image, then you may make exposure compensation for it.

I usually find that because the 300D defaults to partial metering on exposure lock underexposure occurs which i prefer rather than overexposure but with the converter it seamed to be the other way round .
