Am I using this correctly? When in the transmitter mode I set the time (shutter speed) function and it will tell me what F-stop corresponds with it.

Is there a way to set the F-stop and let the meter tell me the time (shutter speed)?

Thanks in advance.

Eddie

I don' think so. In transmitter mode the meter is looking for a flash, which can only be measured in F-stops.

If you are trying to balance ambient and flash, you are better served to find your ambient exposure first. The aperture required for correct ambient exposure then becomes your target aperture when setting the power level of the flash.

Hi Eddie,

When shooting strobes, you set the shutter sync speed and the meter will give you the aperture. Aperture priority only exists when shooting ambient.

Thanks to all for the help in understanding this.
