Ok ... I posted my original post twice, accidentally, so then went back in and edited one to say it was a duplicate, and then found that the other post had disappeared, so think a mod might have gotten to it before me. So ... am editing my edited post again lol

I have broken my IXUS 800 IS (Smashed screen)
I've had this camera for a couple of years and one thing I liked about it is that I also have a waterproof case for it
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Canon-WP-DC5-Waterproof-Case-Digital/dp/B000FCOKKY which was quite expensive to buy.

I need to replace the camera asap, and am after suggestions - what is the best little camera around at the moment, and also are there any other more up to date cameras than the IXUS800IS that are also compatible with this case?

Thanks

I have now discovered that the waterproof case is only valid for this particular camera, so my choice now is whether to buy a replacement IXUS 800 IS and still be able to use the waterproof case for it, or to try to sell the waterproof case, and upgrade to a different camera.

Are there many small cameras that are better than this one?

I use it mainly for taking on holiday, or to places where I don't want to take my 350D e.g. down to the beach, and also for school plays where I don't want the audible loud click of my DSLR. Thanks.

Well that's what I was asking, yes. I was hoping to get a little input but never mind.

Anyway, I've just ordered an IXUS 900 IS which will hopefully arrive in a couple of days, and I will keep the other one to use as an underwater random camera that the kids can play with, as it seems to work, it's just the screen that's broken and the viewfinder is far too tiny to see through really. Hopefully the IXUS 900 IS will do the job.
