Who uses on-line portfolios such as carbonmade or Krop?

Anyone use these website? It's supposed to be a portfolio database, but there are a lot of them out there and this one has a 10$/month hosting fee for more than 10 images.

They boast that

But does anyone know if any companies or professionals look at these sites (specifically this one) when searching for photographers?

Or is it all a scam ?

I've been using Carbonmade for a few months now and it's been great. I only have the 'free' profile which limits me to 35 pictures I believe.

One issue I do have though is that if I google myself, it doesn't find my site. Anyone know how to fix it? My name is the beginning part of the link.
