I went out for a couple quick shots last Saturday night while visiting a friend. This is the same spot I was a about a week ago. Things look a lot different now.
Aside from my usually processing I added lots of contrast, saturation and played with the WB to get the look I was after.

Neat. Looks like it could use a significant counter-clockwise twist. If you draw a line from the top of a tree silhouette to the same point on the tree's reflection, you'll see the line's far from vertical. I hope that's the only reason I'm feeling it's unbalanced and lopsided. Accepting you want it a bit "overdone", must say I really like the brown and amber tones, and the few places where the blue has come through nicely. Cheers, Tony

Thank you very much Tony. Something was bothering me and I can't believe I didn't notice it. I have updated the post.

This is a striking, beautiful scene and well done. I am curious about the long, narrow shaft of light in the center left of the sky, a vertical line tilted a few degrees leftward. It's reflected in the water, also. What is this? My eyes are drawn to it and is a bit distracting. Love this photo, though. It would make a nice calendar photo.

Hi Scott, seems about right... can still look a bit like it's leaning one way or the other but I see this is symmetric and due to the lens distortion. One minor quip re your tone mapping: white trunks turn suddenly black at the top of the tree line. If you wanted to be a perfectionist, could soften the transition with a bit of white "paint" here and there. Still, a beautiful effect overall. Cheers, Tony

Love the image, but yeah, what is that white streak? A con-trail? Can you clone it out because it really is detracting from a lovely image?

Thank you all!
I was on the fence about that jet trail. Now I think I will clone it out. Will update later tonight.

I have updated the OP. I must agree. I prefer it without the con-trail. Tonydee, I see the darkening of the tree tops you are referring to. Although it it isn't all that much, it doesn't bother me. I am only somewhat of a perfectionist. haha
