Hi all - just back from vacation in Arizona, and thought someone may enjoy this. I didn't realize that these saguaro cactus grow all over the place in some areas. This was taken somewhere between Phoenix and Flagstaff.

Yup, they're very prolific. Although both of them are reletively young (notice the lack of off shoots?) the one with the implants ;) looks like it suffered some frost damage down near the base.

I was wondering what that was near the base of several I saw. Also some had what appeared to be bird nest holes. Fun to see all the funny shapes to those of us unfamiliar with them!
