Here are a few from a couple recent sessions. The first I was trying out my new background. The second one I had to try after getting the idea from either this forum or another photography forum, can't remember where. I took the maternity portrait back in January and was finally able to get the mirror image this month. And the third is one of my favorites. This little fella did not want to cooperate, so I did not get much. Please let me know your thoughts, good or bad.http://www.forevermomentsphoto.com/images/posted/DPP_0002.jpg

Of the three I like the first one the best. I typically don't like super high contrast phtos but what you did here works for me. Only thing I'd change would be to crop it a tad - there's too much negative space on top for my tastes.
The last angel pic is really cute. The red mark in between the eyes is a bit distracting. I'd clone/heal it out.

The red mark is a bit distracting, however, as it is affectionately called an "angel's kiss", as well as a very natural part of the baby, I thought I would leave it in. I will leave it up to the mother to decide if she wants me to photoshop it out.

#1: Has quite harsh flat lighting across her face and chest, making it look like she's been ironed onto the backdrop. I think posing her with a little more of her right arm showing would help balance things, and the "one foot" thing - sporting strange amounts of red to boot - or not to boot as the case may be - though (thankfully?) not on the toenails - worries me a little.... Sorry, but I can't help thinking the real thing (a garden) can only leave your studio setup looking second best, and you're inviting such comparisons with this setup.
#2: I think you've pulled it off well technically. The white background, nightdress / ballgown? (it seems to have sparkling bits on it), gauze (?): they add to the sense of unreality when I think a more typical bedroom photo and background, and a less glitzy dress, may have conveyed more subtlety and humanity, and provided an interesting counterpoint to the unreality of the mirror. There does seem to be a missed opportunity for interesting eye contact "with" the baby there. A neat concept: I do hope you have the opportunity to develop it further. Lots of potentials come to mind....
#3: You've incorporated the mythological element quite effectively, though the brightest whites closest to the right thigh do look a bit out of place to me. I think the lighting on the baby is very good.
Cheers, Tony
