Okay... I've posted an earlier version of this piece here, (http://imagefiction.blogspot.com/2009/04/click-here-ive-been-this-way-before.html) so you can see what I've done. Also my thoughts on the whole idea of Surrealism-Made-Simple. Enjoy...

I actually really like this. I've tried this look without ever getting anything I've liked. Mind sharing your technique?

Not at all... it was simplicity itself. I got a tight image I liked... ramped up the sharpness... cranked up the contrast and intensity... then copied the layer, took the smudge tool and with various brushes set to about 80% I simply drew along and around. Nice thing about this as a new layer... I could mask out whatever I wanted to return to the layer below. It is MAX fun to do and you can bring out the feelings that make you ROCK!
Try it and lemme know how it works... better yet... show us.... Click here to see an earlier experiment I tried with this technique in a composite. (http://imagefiction.blogspot.com/2009/02/academic-freedom.html) It's a joy to do... and well.. how much joy do we get, eh? :):)
