Sorry I have not been posting lately but the work and images have piled up.

The first link is a concert/dance shot in Albq, NM at a casino (Hey dwight) with my 40D.

The second link is my first big concert/dance shoot with the 5DMkII. The is the strawberry festival in world famous Poteet, TX

The main question is: can you tell the difference between the two cameras?

Both events were shot with available light and no flash or side flash (my usual rig)

For those unfamiliar with my work I shoot festivals, concerts, dances in the Tejano music category. For the most part these bands are regionaly known and my fan base and clients know who these bands are, hence the lack of captions. I also shoot CD covers and am the credited photographer on 2 grammy winning CD's and 5 other Grammy nominated CD's.

The best advice I have for people entering this business is "DON"T do it for FREE." I never have and it has helped me (in a roundabout way to help buy the 5DMkII) negotiate my way into venues by stressing quality work and by projecting a professional demeanor

When you just look at the photo like that, probably not. But if you pixel peep or print, then you would probably notice. What ISO did you use with the 40D and what did you use for the 5D2? No doubt your high ISO results from the 5D2 would be better if you looked closely.

The colors seem more saturated with the 5DMII and the images are a bit contrastier, but it's hard to tell if the is from PP or a difference in the bodies. I'd be much more interested in your thoughts and observations.

Yes, the colors seem more saturated. The noise at 1600 and 3200 is a lot less. This will enalbe me to shoot more availablre light.

Nice work ... I am making the transition too from a 40D to the 5DMKII
