Had anyone experienced problems with canon powershot s30 command dial? I got a problem where its P and Night Scene mode did not work. If I switch to P mode, its shows Tv mode and night scene to landscape mode. This is my second encounter of command dial problem. Previously it went to stitch assist mode if I switch to auto mode.

Anyone know whether s30's command dial is prone to break? Or maybe experienced the same problem over and over?

PS: for your info, the camera works great (in p mode)until low battery indicator started to blink and pictures were blurred. Saw that it had gone to Tv mode (while command dial was still at P mode).

No one experienced it before? Guess my s30 is a unique camera.

hi, i dont have s30 but am really interest in it. i had a question about ur first post...u said after while battery indicator blink..and pics became blurred? what do you mean by blurred? while taking a pic and when you preview it?...if you are in low battery will it cause your picture quality to go down hill? or is it just the same...? im new sorry...about the "duh" question...

The battery level shouldn't have anything to do with how clear the photos are. If the battery is so low that the camera can't auto focus, it'll simply shut off.

And for Delphin's initial question, you might want to return your camera for an exchange. You said this is your second bout with this problem, and that's VERY strange because it seems fairly rare. The next one you get should be fine, and after a while I think you'll agree that the trouble was well worth it. For another user's similar experience check here.

Ha ha! upon second look I see you've already posted on the thread above. Whatever the service center fixed, it wasn't a long term fix. If possible try sending the camera back to Canon (1 yr. mfr. warranty).
