just a few shots from the circuit. theres nothing great about them, but i thought id share them anyway. a few were taken with my new siggy120-300 2.8. it was the first time using it so im still gettng used to it.

had a problem with the weather....whats new!
after a spell of rain the sun would blast out and i had problems with shadows, half a car bright and the rest dark. the other thing was where the sun was high the top and hood of the car was blown out, so i stopped it down but still means the grill is dark as muck  tried to use fill light in bridge to fix see (1&7) for what im talking about. dont know how to get around this.

The light looks a nightmare to expose for ,bright and dark ,plus high speed action.

I couldn't see the exit data,so cannot comment re settings, but wouyld suggest if you are exposing for the sunny bits, you need to meter accordingly, usually in manual for
me.
One of Simons Harrisons disc thingies might be useful.

not at all jim. im always learning.
the sun hitting the roof and the bottom being dark has me snookered.
the 1st jump was hard as i could not see the car till they came over it. so i used the bottom [] and aimed below the crest. that is the second shot on the crest. first is spot on but car was low, second oof and i think 3rd was ok as the car was all in the shadows. sun made it hard on the focusing.
the likes of the mkII and Donnelly straight on in consistant light i found the lens to be good and faster than i thought. but in the likes of 2 where there were shadows from the trees it hunted.

Pons how should i meter. i really need to sort it out! i was using the [o] overall one. i tried the 'o' spot on its own aiming on the fromt bumper and everything was gone!

Do i just set manual and expose for the scene and the car will be ok?
i think i was -1/3 to -2/3 stops. it was sun, cloud and you would have to change settings then sun again. nightmare! thing is you loose the top 5 cars getting the settings right and those are the cars you need!

grumpling rant over :-)
