For some reason I was having a really rough time with RAW processing right after I bought my DRebel... I was using the outdated version of Adobe Camera raw. I guess this was the problem? I updated ACR but never tried it because I was so discouraged with the results.
I was just sitting in my backyard on the phone holding my camera and took a few snapshots of the ground, grass, etc in both JPEG fine and RAW. the RAW Images blow the JPEG away.
If you have not tried RAW yet or are like me and have been discouraged I urge you to make the switch. I know I have. JPEG is fine for snapping shots that you are going to email or whatnot, but when it matters shoot RAW.
