You could try putting it on meetup.com?

Mac and I are taking an adv photo class and after the first class we mentioned to him about our desire to start a club.
at the second class he mentioned it late in class, but did not get any feedback.
he is bringing a list of past students to class next week and we will talk more. he said he would prolly have to contact them as it would be wierd for us to as well as inappropriate for him to pass out that kind of info.

we have talked amongst the two of us about how to go about this, but not really getting anywhere.
mayb a local camera shop could lend a hand. such as letting you put up a flyer or mayb hosting a camera thing once a month. or something like that.

if you come up with something holla back.

i already thought about the local (30 miles away) camera shop. He shut his club down due to lack of interest...I think it was because he finally got a sponsor for his television show and he doesn't want to be bothered with the club anymore. What about contacting the local library about a meeting place and then posting flyers? Let's think about this one some more.

I started a club in the Twin Cities 7 months ago. I called some friends and put out printed info at the local camera stores about a formation meeting. We have about 20 people month now with no additional advertising. We look at images (4 for each person), discuss the images, and then show a tutorial or bring in a speaker. I hope to do some more advertising - local, small papers, etc. Dive in and try it for a year. If it works, it works; if not, you made some new friends.

dang it for me being so far from the twin cities.
i found several clubs near there, but i am like 300+ miles away. so that about rules it out for practicality.

In Medford we used Meetup.com to start a club last month and they have some nice features to keep it all together - we even recruited someone from the pizza place we met at.
