You know, I love living in San Diego.
Apparently, a lot of other people do, too:

Hehehehe... That'd be the left hand. I just held the camera up and shot through the windshield. Did some cropping when I got home...

I grew up near S.D.S.U., not far from Fairmont Ave. I have driven that stretch highway hundreds of times...

And on a totally different subject, what's the finish on your Les Paul, Steve?

Light Burst, with a tad more than just a hint of flame...

Sweet.
It is... I've owned other Les Pauls, but there's something exceedingly sweet about this one.
I'll have to take shome shots this weekend and post them...

I took a trip out to San Jose about 3 years, or so ago...
Now with me being from new york, I have seen rush hour traffick.. ok no big deal, but out here it is rediculous...
How are you going to have 4, and 5 lane highways at a standstill.... it just didn't make any sense.
I don't know how you guys deal with it...

I've bought a couple of nice Ibanez guitars for my son, but he REALLY wants a les paul. He wants to get it himself, but it may be a graduation gift in a couple of years. He's torn between the sunburst and the gold tone.
Of course, if i get him the les paul, #2 son will want the DW drum set he's had his eye on. I don't know which is more expensive-my photography habit or their music.

I grew up on Long Island. I was back there a couple years ago, trying to navigate the Long Island Expressway.
I'll take the traffic in San Diego, thankyouverymuch...

If I remember correctly, Gibson is now only making the Gold Top in their Custom Shop. When I bought my Les Paul, I was looking at a ’57 Reissue Gold Top, and it was a Custom Shop piece. I would’ve bought it, but the neck was HUGE.
As for which hobby is more expensive, I think the jury’s still out on that one. I’ve spent tens of thousands of dollars on guitars and amps over the last 20 years. From the look of it, I’m going to follow suit with my photo gear…

Every situation in that movie, with the wandering cold sore scene being the exception, has occurred to one extent or another in my checkered career as wannabe rockstar. That Christopher Guest was able to catch all the nuances is uncanny. Anyone who is serious about music, needs to sit and study this movie. It is so funny because it is so true.
