I've had my 300D for about 5 months now after changing from a few Digital Point and Shoot camera. I just felt that it wasn't really that good a camera for what I wanted to do so I made the break into the SLR type.

When I first got my 300D I was quite happy with it but then I started to get more unhappy with it. I felt the quality wasn't too good. (I was using the Kit lens with it).

But, since buying the EF-50 f1.8 II last Saturday I can't believe how good this lens is. Even though its all plastic construction, its a fantastic lens. With great results.

I've done a few portrait shots of friends in the pub and I love the bokeh it creates when wide open.

(Sorry, just had to share!)

The words "fantastic plastic" were made for this lens...

No matter what kinds of materials are built on, as long as a lens performs well, they are good lens.

A similar theory as "black cat and white cat statement" by Deng Xiaoping.

yup, you will notice that as you start to pick up higher model, better quality lenses, you will see better "quality" images from them... Not saying you will "take" better quality images.. That you have to learn on your own regardless of the lens choice.
