Hello i just bought a used sekonic L-358 lightmeter how do i know that is it working properly? If i take a reading set my camera to the meter should my histogram be spiking in the middle for proper exposer.I am new in using a lightmeter and histogram any help would be great.

I assume you're measuring incident light?
Where the histogram ends up depends on the tones in your subject: A darker subject will give a spike more to the left....
