I am working on getting my website up and running. And I would like to classify my site into 2 parts since I do such a variety of photography work. Here are my two major areas.
1. Weddings, senior shots, family, parties, baby & kids, fashon & glam
2. Morotsports, Entertainment, Wildlife, Travel.
My question is when someone lands on my homepage, How should I catagorize these 2 sections. Each section will bring the user to one of the 2 options above.
Maybe I should limit what I place on the site... I just dont know.. Any ideas/opinions?

Are there one or two categories where you have the most business? Personally I tend to think a photography site that says "I shoot everything" is a bit watered down, if it's a business site. So if weddings is a big deal for you (for example), I'd have a separate wedding site, and leave the rest to a different site completely.

For me I shoot family, infant, maternity, birthdays, etc...I have one site for those and I have separate galleries for each... http://www.lolaandme.com
I am just beginning a fashion, model. glam, boudoir division I have decided that I would develop a new site for a couple of reasons... http://www.provocateurphotography.com
1. the branding is completely different
2. some people from my maternity, childrens client base would be turned off by the images from the second division

Your question is a good one. Most of my business comes from weddings-- but in the past two years I have taken on lots of other clients from sports teams to new organizations. I was thinking about breaking up and having multiple sites--- but currently I consider myself a wedding photographer and call the other end of my business commercial (even though most of it is other stuff)

So much of my business comes from weddings and I want to be able to speak to that very distinctly so I have one site dedicated to just that. Portraits, events, etc., all go out to another site.
