I'm trying to learn about photoshop plugins. I have adobe photoshop 5.5, would some of the newer plugins work on this program, or is it too old?

I've looked up plugins in my ps help menu - it tells me there are already some plugins installed. How do I access these? Also, I've heard people say that when they use plugins, they appear in the history panel, then they can go back into the history and tweak them, is this right, and can anyone tell me about this (cause I have no idea).

If I were to download a new plugin, would I need to change something in my ps to make it work, or would it just appear somewhere in my ps program. If so - where?

Also, does anyone know anything about monotone?

Thanks for any help (I might come up with more questions...) ~ Sabina

Hi Sabina,

Your plug-in folder is probably in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop 5.5\Plug-Ins. If not, go to Start>Search>All Folders: and enter Plug-ins. That is where the plug-ins go. Make a shortcut to the plug-in folder and put it on your desktop.

You won't have to change anything in your ps. It will just appear.
Restart ps, open any photo and look under Filters at the top of ps. Duplicate your original image and apply the filters to the dupe.

Mess around, have fun!

You should upgrade to CS2, it doesnt cost too much for an upgrade and you can upgrade from any version.
