Lol not cloning in PS.
You take a bunch of shots with you in different places and you merge them all together in PS.
He meant the cloning bit as a joke ;)

I'd imagine it was a tripod setup shot. Take several shots (timed shutter release) of each location, without moving the camera. Then combined all the photos in photoshop and masking the layers that you want to show through.

mdm: you grew an arm! now if you grew another one you'd be able to hold your camera and carry extra lenses. :D i think your newly arrived arm is missing some shadow on the sofa.
eric: i like the effect with the same clothes but possibly more facial expressions ie...laughing at card table, screaming at tv. though it would be cool like the one checking the fridge dressed in pajamas.
i'm still mesmerized! the lighting is amazing!
question: is this done in manual focus? what are you focusig on?

Can a picture like this be edited with Photoshop Elements 3.0 or do you need features in CS?

markubig: i have ps elem 2 and i think you can do this on 3. i'm thinking all you need to do is use the layers with eraser tool.

Looks like he used the Photomerge method. :D
Anyway, I set up a tripod and used the timer (obviously). But i didn't use a remote... i would if i had one, but i just pressed the button. Once i had all my shots, i went into PaintShopPro 9, and copied myself from the shots and pasted them onto their own layer in one image. Next i moved them around until they look like they are close to where they need to be and then you just use the erase tool to get rid of whatever you don't want. Not very hard, just takes some time.
The arm is easily fixable. I just found the layer that was covering it up, and erased that part to let the arm show through.

This is great. Need to try it out sometime. I like the one arm thing. Maybe remove a different limb from each image of yourself. That would be scary!

Brilliant!
Not sure about the one-armed guy's cards though, can't be a very good hand can it?:D
