I have a friend that wants me to take a photo that will be framed and put in his office.

Here are the 2 contenders so far. Which do you prefer and why?

I like the B&W, it is very stark. The color one is a bit dull, though the river reminds me of home.

My vote goes for the B&W, I dunno why it just sticks out to me, its a very pretty photograph.

i'd go with the B&W as well. the color one is nice but i dont think it would look as good framed and placed on a wall.

I would want to know what his office looked like. Color might not fit. B&W almost always looks good. Both images are very nice, but I prefer the black and white.

So the BW wins.
Good enough to frame and mount?

s: i live in nyc so your outdoor images are a luxury for me to see! maybe that's why i'm connecting with them more than your studio work (though still very good).

absolutely, mount and frame the bw. i'm not experienced at mounting and framing yet. in class we learned how to mount images (8x10) by cropping and ironing adhesive paper to back of print, very cheesy, but cheap and good for students.

good luck on the mounting i'm sure the very friendly and knowledgeable people here will offer great advice (and i'll be in the background listening;) )

Wow, youre in NYC? I was born in Manhattan and lived in the Bronx until my teens.
Then I moved to Miami.
NYC and Miami, both huge cities.

Currently I live in a tiny town in northern Colorado called Firestone. You could walk through the town in 10 minutes. We just got our first grocery store... woo hoo!

Anyway, there are sooo many photo opportunities here. Everything is old, from the days of the Wild West, and there are so many farms, old trees, creeks, old covered wagons ect...

You'll see more of my out door shots soon... Too much to shoot here.

s: i grew up in hells kitchen and now reside in bronx, the closest i get to any real houses are the one i see are in fieldston.

the colorado you're photographing is beautiful.

i could walk through 5 towns in 10 minutes (as you know ea. block is considered a town here in the city) you turn one corner you're in chinatown, turn the next and you're in little italy. :D

I have a question for all of you.

I dont want to frame the BW because its better than the other. I want to frame it because its good ya know?

So does the BW photo draw any interest?

First of all I'd say neither, because they were taken with a Pentax on a Canon forum!

I think it's excellent and well worth framing. Go for it.

Hi

I like the B&W, what is meant by "good", everyone has their own opinons. I think it is good, if that's worth anything. I'd like it on my wall.
