Alien Bees + 580EX II Question

OK I'm going to be doing a test photoshoot right now and I am using the Alien Bees B400. Is it possible to set a 580EX II of the camera and set it as a slave so when the B400 goes off the 580EX II will go off too? I know it will work if I have the 580EX II on my 5D mark II but does anyone know how or if this is possible? Thanks!

i dont think this is possible. but you can use the 580EXII to trigger the AB400 since it has an optical sensor.

Yeah, you'll have to trigger it optically.

you can only trigger the AB400 optically. If you have a way of triggering the 580 EX II off camera it WILL in turn trigger the AB400.

It sounds like you could turn it around. Use the method you have to trip the B400 to trip the 580EX in manual mode and it will fire the B400.
