As mentioned in my intro, I am an Australian living in Tokyo, Japan.

I have travelled to every state and territory in Australia, and have been to a significant portion of the main Japanese island of Honshu.

As I work for within the International Baccalaureate, I have been fortunate enough to be sent to Hong Kong and Denver for training.

Whilst in Denver, I went with friends for Dinner in Cheyenne - my first view of the US however, was peering out the window at San Fransisco's Golden Gate Bridge, whilst in transit.

Living In Japan and always going home for Christmas, means stop overs in between (although direct flights are available).

So Malaysia (a week, in 2 trips), Thailand (3 days), Singapore (a week) and Indonesia (a day trip from Singapore) have been destinations.

I also went on a volcano tour of sorts across the north islad of New Zealand, that was before i moved to Japan.

where have you been?

The only places I have not been are Southeast Asia and Antarctica. I have been extremely fortunate for my life and my travels.

I've been to many US states, and went to Ontario, Canada when I was a kid.

I've been to Australia a few times, and visited 4 states and one territory - Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria (just a fly-thru via Melbourne), and South Australia. Spent time also in Australian Capital Territory. :D The first two trips were business trips. The third was for pleasure. Great place to visit.

I'm sure I'd enjoy Melbourne. I was only passing through the airport on a connection.

I liked all of the places I visited. Sydney is probably my favorite. It's a very cosmopolitan city, very walkable. On our vacation trip, we stayed in Manly and took the ferries into the city.

In Qld, we were in Port Douglas. Very nice, tropical. Canberra is quite modern and yet quiet. We went out of the city and saw some of the other locations in ACT, including the Canberra Deep Space Communications Complex. While in the Adelaide area (business trips in early 1990s) I stayed in Glenelg and one day had a tour of some of the wineries in SA.

If you go to my profile and go to my webpage, you'll see a link for Australia. It's a photo tour of what we did and saw on our vacation in '04.

How do you like Japan? My bro- and sis-in-law lived there for awhile (and sent a few bottles of sake this way).

Born in US. Have been to and seen most of our 50 states including HI, but not Alaska. Been to U.K., (London and Ireland) most of western Europe with Belgium and Holland being favorites. Caribbean as well. Tend to gravitate toward and like the warmer climates.

Places I'm not really fond of include pacific NW, (sorry guys!) anything in upper Midwest, (sorry again) and most of all Ohio, where I live! Much of what I've seen outside the US I've enjoyed very much.

Haven't been, but would really like to visit Asia-Pacific--Hong Kong, Singapore, China and Japan.

You know now that I think about it...I can recall some places I've been...no wait that was just the airport I'm thinking of.

You know how annoying it is to go to Honolulu for less than 4 hours? Frankfurt for six hours? Beijing for 4 hours? Show up, zip through immigrations do your job, get back to the airport and head off somewhere else. One of these days I'd love to see the places I've been!

For those of you actually going places, find out the best way to get there by following me on Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/flyingwithfish

Happy Flying!

Mate,,bloody brilliant.. Relaxed lifestyle, good food and the best beer brewed in Asia.. Only negative is the Lao are terrible drivers,,and I mean really terrible.. Honestly, the Lao are the nicest people I've met.. Laidback and love a good time just like Aussies..

My wife has been living in Laos since early '04 project managing an Education funded by AusAid.. The project was only going to last 12 months but was extended to 4 years  We decided come to Laos together and work,,we were tired of being separated..

I'm not a career teacher,, but a photo-journalist.. In early '07 I went back to my studies and attained my Dep of TESOL.. My wife is very well known in the Education sector in Laos so we were both offered jobs when we arrived in November '07..

I've a very short list in comparison to most... I've seen all of New Zealand where I live but outside of that can only add Australia multiple times (including Lord Howe Island once) and the Cook Islands.

Until next week at least... then I'll be able to add Singapore and Malaysia to the list.

All of the east coast from Maine to Florida and all of the west coast from Washington to California. I've road a train from the east to west coast so I've covered a good bit. I've been to Canada but not Mexico.

I've been to Australia: from southern gold coast to Byron Bay and back via motorcycle...something like 8-9000km (I forget now).

I've been to the following European Countries: Germany, France, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Belgium, and Portugal.

I'm on my way to China next week.

My boss, on the other hand, has been nearly everywhere...including two trips to Antarctica.

Non-US: Bulgaria, Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, UK, Greece, Russia, S. Korea, China (HK), Indonesia, India, Thailand, Niger, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Mozambique, Zambia, Australia, Mexico, and Brasil (aka Heaven).

Good times...good memories...

I should've taken more photos. All I have is one 4x6 of me flying in a helicopter south of Melbourne, a few digital shots (Nikon 995) in Toledo, Spain, and a 4x6 of me petting a baby lion. The first international trip was to Rio and my most recent trip was to Rio --- can't get too much of Brasil!

Internationally: Peru, Ecuador (including the Galapagos), Mexico, Canada, Kenya, and airplane stops in Panama, Grand Cayman, and England.

I've done a bit better here in the U.S. I've been to every U.S. state except Alaska, North Dakota, South Carolina, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Delaware. The wife and I were just talking the other day about how we need to poke around a bit in New England.
