A friend from POTN and I went to the airshow, with our significant others today. Here's a few results. This is the first time I've been able to take pictures, at an airshow...as the last time, I forgot my cameras' memory card. :(

C&C more than welcome. ;)

Thanks for the comments.

Cool shots. Next time you see your memory cards on sale, get one for each camera bag and each car/vehicle you own.

YIPPEE!

Yeah, I hear ya. Problem was, I left the camera bag at home, and only took a wide angle and tele with me, that day. :(

As for the plane with writing on it, every time I saw it go by today, I'd shout out loud...'YIPPEE!!'

Thanks for the comments. ;)

What'd you use to get most of those photos? (Focal length wise)... Very good photos.
My fave would have to be "Yipee!"... He he, wonder if the pilot ever checks what's painted below his aircraft. If you think about it, it could turn out into a great prank !!

Haha, thanks Mario. I'm sure he knows...but, that's a wild guess. ;)

As for the exif data...sorry it gets stripped, via Smugmug. I leave it in the files but for some reason it doesn't quite make it. So, here goes:

5D + 400 f/5.6L
1) f/8, ISO 400, 1/1250th sec.
2) f/13, ISO 400, 1/400th sec.
3) f/11, ISO 400, 1/500th sec.
4) f/5.6, ISO 100, 1/320th sec. (I'm surprised by this one myself...as I usually can't handhold at this SS...without shake).

Sky Conditions started out nice, but, the Sun was right in front of us, this morning. Then, changed from blue, to cloudy with Sunshine. Thus, apertures/SS/ISO was all over the place. All manual mode...as I don't use the other modes. ;)

Hmmm... Someone's been holding out on us.

Excellent work here, sir. Love the "YIPPEE" as well as the sailplane shot.

That's a good series. I always have a memory card in my left pocket, even when I don't have a camera with me. It sits right next to my spare car keys. Guess why?

Bummer. :(

My friend Nate told me about it a while ago, and we had made plans to go to this one. We didn't stay the whole day, but, enjoyed the 4 or 5 hours that we were there. ;)

Glad you liked 'em. It's addictive stuff...watching airplanes do acrobatics. ;)

Nice shots! I wish they would have an airshow somewhere close to me. The last one was 9 years ago.

Since Jacksonville is a pretty big Navy hub, we get at least 2 a year, if not more. Welcome to stop on by, should you happen to be close. ;)

Appreciate the comments.

+1 This is a great shot. I was stationed at Cecil (86-88) and worked a couple of air shows, they are a lot more fun as a spectator. Great shots all around.

Glad you liked them. I had a fun time...as did all of us.

Yeah, it is quite a change - don't miss the love bugs or humidity much but then again you don't see much snow or below freezing temps. Really enjoyed my time there. Looks like you had a good time and a great air show.

Yeap. Was a great time, and as for the weather...eh, I don't miss the snow, from NY, at all. ;)

Very nice. Can't say I've ever seen a drogue chute on a sailplane before.

I noticed the spoilers are out too...

They were attempting to cut a ribbon, that was held up by two poles, as the glider was coming in for a landing. However, the wind was a bit too strong and the pilot coulnd't cut the ribbon. So, upon it's landing, they had to basically open the shoot, otherwise, it would run out of runway space...at the point where it landed. That's the only thing I could figure out...

I'll throw a couple of mine in here since we were standing mere feet apart...haha. Since there bound to be repeats, I apologize ahead of time.

Thanks. yeah I agree, the F-15 is a very cool plane, definitely ranks up there among my favorites, although I gotta admit, I LOVE the warbirds too, but more for the history than the sheer power and sound.
