When these two dropped by this afternoon I thought of Tom so I took a snap and here it is. I have three or four that visit regularly. My mother has a nesting pair in her patio.

Mourning doves must be the most sexually active birds of all. They build their silly little nests anywhere three twigs will hang together, the nest frequently falls apart after the eggs are laid, crows swoop in and eat the eggs, yet there are more mourning doves than any other species (it seems). They are such dumb-acting birds, yet pretty and charming in their own way. Nice shot, Skip.
