Does anyone here use the Sigma 24-60mm F2.8 EX DG AF lens? How does this lens compare to the Tamron 28-75mm lens for sharpness etc.

You mean the Sigma 24-70 2.8 ? I've used both, and they are both really good lenses. However I prefer the Tamron 28-75 myself. From my comparison's, the Tamron seems sharper to me. The Sigma is also a bigger lens. Not a bad thing. Tamron is just smaller and nicer to handle.

I just ordered the Tamron because the sample photos looked so great, reviews were VERY good, and alot of people talk highly about it.
I don't know anything about the Sigma, but I've heard better on the Tamron....at least all the threads I come upon. :P

The brand new Sigma 24-60 EX DG has some nice technical features with it. Because it's so new, very limited info is available online.

The Sigma 24-60mm I beleive is in fact lighter than the Tamron... Of course the Sigma 24-70mm is indeed heavier.
One of the advantages of either Sigma lens is the faster Focus speed.
Belmondo has the the Sigma 24-60mm... and he likes it enough to use it! And this is meaningfull,.. considering he also has the EF 24-70mm f/2.8L ;)
