Who cares about the size, these are all great shots - even the one with the helmet.

Thank you. I appreciate all the positive responses. It is amazing the results you can get with a relatively simple set-up.

Very nice shots. Do you have a pull away shot to show the strobe placement?

Did you take any without any flash at all?
1. I'd stay away from ISO Speed Ratings = 125. Partial (not even #s like 100, 200, etc.) are known to be noisier .
2. I'd try to get a touch darker sky, & then just kick in a bit of flash fill.
3. They look OK on my laptop, but I think they could be much better with some tweaking.

I dont understand what you mean about ISO. Why stay away from 125??
The third one is the only one I have processed. I thought the other two were good as is. I would love to see what you can do to improve them though.

For another, you should turn on "Image Editing OK" in your Sig. There's an easy way to set this in your User Control Panel under EDIT PROFILE

I answered your questions. What about mine? Did you take any without any flash at all?

I did take some where the flash didnt fire but I deleted them.
So on the ISO you mean that ISO 125 has more noise than ISO 100. So I should keep to ISO 100 whenever possible?
I will turn on image editing ok, so you can show me what you can do with them.

Last one is money. I just wish you didn't crop it so close to the bike and left a little bit of background on that side too.

So on the ISO you mean that ISO 125 has more noise than ISO 100. So I should keep to ISO 100 whenever possible? Yes. It seems that the interpolating software adds noise. I did take some where the flash didnt fire but I deleted them. Too bad. Mostly, I'd like to see you try some without the strobe using the proper exposure in natural light. See the "Tips" in my Sig.
Try framing it more like this.
You're probably using a non-color managed browser, so what you see will be darker & more contrasty than what I see. See the other link in my Sig.

I like your processing a lot. The framing looks much better and the colors are sharper.
How do I get a color managed browser. I am using a MAC with Safari

Google mac safari "color managed browser." & you'll get this at the top:

Thanks Photosguy
My set-up was a single 580EXII fired using a Paul C Bludd Microsync popper. My camera is a 30D using a 70-200 F4L. I wished I had my second flash to light different sections of the bike but I forgot the batterys.
Pretty simple set-up really.
