These are, on a smaller image scale of course, fully the equal of Ansel Adams' famous photographs of these dunes. Congratulations!

Great dune photos. Did you get there shortly after a big wind? There are no tracks.
What time of day were these taken? Very nice light. Not too harsh, but not too soft.

thanks for the compliments, you all are very kind. glad i discovered this forum.
all the shots (from two trips) were taken at daybreak, shortly after the sun rises from behind the funeral mountains. i guess i was pretty lucky i was there before the climbers got onto the dunes. :)

Welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing those wonderful shots. Of course, we all hate it when a newbie blows our work out of water  Could you share camera, lense and exposure info?

hi MarkoPolo! these shots were taken with my 10D, 70-200/f4L, polarizer and tripod. here's the exposure data:
#1: 70mm, f/32, 1/2 sec
#2: 126mm, f/22, 1/2 sec
#3: 109mm, f/4, 1/400 sec
#4: 200mm, f/18, 1/15 sec
in retrospect, maybe i needn't use so small an aperture in #1 & #2. :p
