I am having some issues with creating a map using a GPS track and geotagging images. Maybe I am doing something wrong. I have been trying to use both GPicSync and Downloader Pro to create a map with my GPS track (from a Garmin Oregon 400t) that has my photos geotagged and on the map. I have tried to make things work on both Google Earth and Google Maps.

I shoot entirely in RAW and don't seem to have an issues geotagging the raw images once my workflow begins at my computer. All my images have their coordinates according to Lightroom. However I just can't seem to find a way to export those images into JPG and have them easily strung together to great a track with photos on it. I am shooting an adventure documentary next year that is taking me all over the globe and want to have this process down so that we can integrate something onto a website. Any ideas?

i'm just thinking off the top of my head, but if you're numbering is sequential (meaning pic#1 is at the beginning of your route, #5 is middle, #10 at end) then couldn't you create a route in google maps using each picture's gps coordinate as a waypoint? and the create a route/directions off of this?

i also found this, if you're using a mac another option to get it into google earth, http://craig.stanton.net.nz/code/iphototogoogleearth/

So what you are saying is when you view the exif in lightroom for the RAW the lat/long is there; but when lightroom converts to a jpg it's now in the exif?

I use Raw Shooter Essentials to convert raw to jpg and Gpicsync's data remains in my jpegs.

Maybe a fellow lightroomer can assist...

Alright...well now I have figured out how to make sure my jpg's have the correct geotagging information. My next question is that once I have a folder of geotagged images, how do I go about having them put on a map such as google earth or google maps?

Gpicsync can also make a kmz file... do you have one in the folder the Google Maps Export field is referring to?

Ok...I have sorted that problem out too. So now I can see my thumbs on Google Earth. What is the next steps that allow me to put them onto a google map that I could embed onto a website?
