A pleasant waste of 3 minutes.

It's just what the subject header says: 1000 Frames Per Second (Video)

If you scroll through the comments on the page, he doesn't seem to reveal exactly what camera is being used, but eludes to the fact that "friends built it". I'd really like to know myself, just from a geek/tech perspective.

Wow.. thats crazy. That's about a 2GB/Sec capture.

I guess this would be a great reply to the recent "What's the point of FPS?" thread. Stuff like this really blurs the line between still/motion pictures. I am sure it is only a matter of time before stills are pulled from 'video' with the same quality we achieve now with our DSLRs and still photography will be redefined.

I think that's the cleanest "Super Slo Mo" I've ever seen. I'd be curious to see how it performs at night under the lights though. Most SSMo systems are pretty good in daylight.

For those who don't know, the NAB Convention (National Association of Broadcasters) is the broadcast industry equivalent of PMA or Photokina...
