To buy or not to buy...

A friend has offered for sale a Sigma 17-35 EX HSM 2.8 - 4. He has told me to make him an offer.
This lens would need to be rechipped, as AF does not work with his DReb, so obviously would not work on my DReb.
What would this cost to have rechipped, and what would be a fair price to offer him?
I will be taking it for a test shoot next weekend if it is still available.

Send an e-mail to Sigma and ask them. Contact via their web site. I have had fairly speedy and useful advice on a range of lenses that I've considered in the past. Check out reviews of the lens online as it may, or may not, be worth buying irrespective of whether it is chipped or not.

Good Advice Condyk. I agree also that she should do some research. I have a Sigma lens and had a chip put in it, but Sigma did it for me for free. I have found them to be very informative and helpful when I needed some help. :)
